Advancing Discovery.
Transforming Diagnostics.

At Varizymes, we harness the power of nature by optimizing enzymes for advanced research and diagnostic applications.

At Varizymes, Our Work Starts Here.

About Us

Varizymes' DirecTaq™ DNA polymerase is isolated from the thermophilic bacterium Thermus aquaticus.

Geothermal springs and other extreme environments are home to microorganisms that produce enzymes with exceptional properties.

We identify these unique enzymes and optimize them through bioengineering, creating innovative tools for molecular biologists.

These enhanced enzymes are accelerating research discoveries and transforming point-of-care and field-based diagnostics.

About Us

Enzymes and other novel reagents are engineered and optimized in our state-of-the-art lab in Wisconsin.

Our team of protein engineers and biochemists have decades of experience in modifying and optimizing enzymes for improved performance.

As an example, Varizymes' neoBolt™ Bst DNA Polymerase is a recombinant, truncated (lacks 5’ to 3’ exonuclease activity), thermostable, Bst-like DNA polymerase with high reverse transcriptase and strand-displacement activities, making it ideal for isothermal amplification of both RNA and DNA targets.

NeoBolt Bst DNA Polymerase is a key component of our TORCH™ mLAMP multiplexed diagnostic assay technology.

About Us

Varizymes Diagnostics is the leader in multiplex loop-mediated isothermal amplification (mLAMP) technology. Our TORCH mLAMP assays and kits enable fast, simple and economical point-of-care and field-based pathogen detection and are the only LAMP tests capable of simultaneously identifying up to 4 targets in a single test.

We have ready-made kits for SARS-CoV-2 and Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus available now under early-access. Kits for avian Metapneumovirus (aMPV), Hepatitis C Virus, Candida auris and catfish and tilapia disease detection are in development.

We can also partner with you to build a custom TORCH mLAMP kit for pathogens of your choice.

About Us

At Varizymes Molecular Tools, our team is hard at work taking enzymes we have discovered and engineering them for significantly improved performance, enhancing their utility across a variety of cutting-edge research applications including next-generation sequencing, PCR, gene expression analysis, isothermal amplification, and more.

For example, Varizymes' SwifTag™ Tn5 2.0 Transposase is a hyperactive retroviral integrase engineered for improved activity and stability that is used to construct random next-generation sequencing libraries and to study chromatin structure using targeted ATAC-seq.

About Us

At Varizymes, we deeply value our customers, partners and distributors. Our mission is to provide you with state-of-the-art tools to accelerate research discoveries and transform molecular diagnostics.

Together, we are advancing the frontiers of biotechnology for a healthier future.
